Not getting on anymore: Discussions on collaboration

We're chairing a forum at Boxcopy on the 6th of October;

Not getting on anymore, 2011
John Wood & Paul Harrison

Brisbane artists Catherine or Kate discuss re-appraisals of the value and functions of collaboration in the visual arts, with exhibiting duo Clark Beaumont. The discussion is joined by video responses from Anna Clawson & Nicole Ward (UK), John Wood & Paul Harrison (UK), Tully Arnot & Charles Dennington (Sydney/Berlin) and Non Grata (Estonia), collaborators encountered by Catherine or Kate on their travels over the last 3 years.

Hope to see you there!

Car tactics

Back in Brisbane and preparing for a few new projects - including our Mazda Residency which finally kicks off in November. See below for some car 'research' images from our recent trip to the UK:

Good reports

Kate and her average contents getting off the train in Belgium. We heard good reports about the Jimmie Durham show at MHKA. Those reports turned out to be true:

Jimmie Durham.  Smashing, 1994.
Jimmie Durham. Second Life, 2010.
 The book on the table: "Games and Sports in the Army".

Sometimes table tennis helps

Being in the studio isn't always good for us. Intervals involving table tennis and remote-controlled clay cars are legitimate and should be encouraged for the sake of a healthy and productive collaboration.

Tally-ho

We're leaving for the UK shortly and won't be back until October, not long enough you say? Here's some Gilbert & George patriotism to keep us (and you) in the British spirit:

Studio 2012

2012 is going to be a good year! We'll be spending August in the UK alongside our favourite duo John Wood & Paul Harrison. You can check out their fancy new webpage here

We're also in the process of setting up our studio at Metro Arts and you're welcome to visit us for tea, coffee and/or bouts of bad humour. We moved in a few weeks back and out of sheer enthusiasm bought 6 chairs and a ceramic frog plant pot.
